State 4-H Horse Show

Hey everyone, so it has been a long time. So where to start.......Yesterday I got back from Abilene where Lauren, Landry, and I competed in the state horse show. Lauren showed in the Cow horse, Reining, and Poles. Landry showed in Halter and got 9th, and I showed in Halter and got 7th, roped and ran Poels. We were there all week and had the time of our lives. We got to spend time with friends and as a family. We did not do as good as we had Hoped but thats all right there is always next year.
School starts in about 4 weeks and I am kind of looking forward to it but not completaly. Well that about sums it all up. LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well since my last post I have been to Abilene to watch the High School State Rodeo Finals, and I have been to camp, Competed in District and 2 Happy's.
At Abilene I was able to watch the girls Break-a-way. I was really impressed the winning time was like a 3. While I was at Happy I Roped in Break-a-way I was able to rope a 3 as well but I broke barrier.
I am going to go State and compete in Poles, Halter and Break-a-way. I am really excited. It is going to be soooooooooooooooooooooo much fun.

Horse show

Yesterday we went to a Big 5 show. I did pretty good to. I got 2nd in halter, like 7th in goats, 4th in barrels 2nd in poles and 2nd in the break away.When I went to rope my first calf he did not break off of the barrier line so I got a new calf I roped him in like 3 something seconds. The person that beat me roped his calf in a 2. I also competed in Tie Down Calf Roping but missed my calf.
Thursday a friend taught me how to tie a calf all I did was ground work so when I showed up on Saturday I was real nervous because if I caught I would have to dismount and I had never done that before. But in the end it all worked out.

Saturday I went to Big 5 and did OK but i could of done better. We have another one this coming Saturday then that next Friday we have Happy then District. We have a Rodeo or playday every weekend but 2 till August starts and i am really exited.
This summer i was going to do the Top of Texas Rodeo Queen Teen contest but due to a low number of entries they canceled it. I was really disappointed because i really was looking forward to it. Well i guess there is always next year.

Summer has started

OK. I know it has been a while since I left a post. School let out today and I am so exited. Summer has officially began. On my first post I said God had been changing my life but did not specify. Well I Guss I will start here. Lately there have been some people that have tried my nerves. All I wanted to do was lay them out, Several times, but instead (with Gods help) I was able to go to them in privet and confront them. A few days later something happened and one of them came to me and apologized. Since I have started to treat people different people have treated me different. When I go to school I can go knowing that I am good with everyone. If it had not been for my moms advice and Gods help I would still go to school and every one would get on my nerves. But I can gladly say that has changed.
Last weekend we went to a rodeo in Perrtyon I won the all around and with that came a buckle. Yesterday we went to a Big 5 show and I won the grand Champion mare with Suzie Q my grade mare. I got 3rd in Poles, Barrels, 4th in Goats and I missed my breakaway calf.
I am really excited about summer. It will not last as long as I want it to but I guss we have to go back to school sooner or later. I will be in High School so I am looking forward to it.

counting down the days

Well today was the last TAKS test. That means only 10 days of school. I never thought it would come. Well tomorrow i have a rodeo at Perryton, i am looking forward to going even though i have to get up early. I know it will be worth it. Mowing has really kicked up we are either mowing or riding almost every day after school. Well i am off to rodeo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

A little about me

Well lets see, school, Rodeo, Horses, Mowing. Summer is almost here and it is already busy. About 3 weeks ago we started mowing again. Fun.Fun. No, I actually enjoy it.

Its also time to start riding, and showing horses. This is my favorite time of year for that reason. And because when we start showing horses that means school is almost over. I am counting down the days. I have taken 2 of the 4 TAKS Tests that I have to take as an 8th grader. This Next week I will have to take the Science and Social Studies Tests. I have already taken the Reading and Math which I passed. Thankfully. I was really worried about the math since that is my weakest subject in school.

Last summer I started Roping and I love it. At the end of the year I roped at one rodeo so when they started up this year I was able to really get started. I have also been able to go with my dad some and work and brand cattle.

I an also an active member in 4-H. I do the Food Show, Clothing, Horse Project and the past few years I have participated in the Stock Show, I showed sheep and goats. But I decided not to take part in that this year. I also do Big 5 Horse Shows. I qualified for the State 4H Horse Show the past 2 years in barrels, poles and halter.

God has been working in my life a lot over the past few years. just in the past few months he has put me in some situations that have changed my life. they have not been big situations but they have big enough to change me.
